(For My Son who is away at school) The greatest gift to behold, A son is born for me to hold. Sent from heaven to set my life straight, What a wonderful thing for two to create. From late night feedings, To pictures sent for Christmas greetings. Till ready for bed in your feeted pajamas, A traditional gift from both of your grandmas. I remember when you were so very small, We started measuring your height on the wall. Your bight smile and your eyes so blue, Everything you saw seemed to be so brand new. As you grew we did so many things together, We would go sliding in the park, in the wintery weather. We played ball, and Tag, and Hide-n-go-seek, I never let on that I knew you would peek. The smallest injury would cause quite a trauma, But tears quickly faded, with love from your mama. You were so very good and never any trouble, If kids we could order I’d ask for a double. I’m so very proud of you, now that your grown, No other can compare to the seeds I have sown. Your starting your own family, now it would "appear", Just one thing left to say " God, I love you my dear" |

Roger man - this is one really fine poem - it touches me - especially the last line. Way to go. |
