My angel faced little son,
Who goes by the name of Dylan,
He's such a little sweetie,
I hardly ever call him a villian.

He has a handle on things,
He knows so much for one of four,
If I didn't know better I'd say,
He's an old soul who's been here before.

He's very tuned into feelings,
Of all the people around him,
He offers a hug or knows when to make you laugh,
So your soul light is no longer dim.

He carries a weight on his shoulders,
That seems to much to bear for one so small,
Emotionally helpful he's always been,
Inside he's 6 foot tall.

He brightens my every moment with his little sense of humour,
He's thoughtful and kind so often,
I almost take it for granted,
The edges of my life he softens.

He's a guiding light for his Daddy,
Such a pleasure to come home to,
Without this little gem in our lives,
God knows what would we do?

I can't help but wonder
What will he be when he grows?
I know it'll be something helpful,
From all the loving ways he shows.

I won a reading once,
From the physic who read for lady Di,
She said he'd be in uniform,
Helping others is how he'll get by.

She said he was an old soul,
Which I'd suspected all along,
Looking at him now,
I wish my heart was filled with the same song.

He puts me to shame,
With all his loving ways,
And I thank the Lord above,
That he came to fill our days.

It doesn't matter what he ends up doing,
In his lifelong quest,
Cos I know a little secret,
When God made him, he made the best!!

WELL PEPPER IS THIS WHAT YOU HAD IN MIND. IT WAS HARD!!

I think I know where your son gets it all from Wonderful response to a challenge, and a very beautiful poem.

He sounds like a sweetie! You and your hubby have done a good job raising him too.. it's not just that he's an old soul..children imitate what they see around them....he must see the love in your home to give it so freely. Congratulations on a job well done..in the poem and in the way you are raising your son!
