Where blue skies meet blue ocean

You’ve finally reached that age
Where certain things aren’t cool
Like hanging out with your Mother
Or wearing hand-me-downs to school

You have your own ideas on things
They don’t always agree with mine
It’s hard to let you do it your way
But you’re handling things just fine

You still like to be the little one
When it comes time to getting things
You’ve out grown Barbie’s and such
Now it’s clothes, cd’s and rings

The new hair cut that I called cute
Isn’t cute, it’s called “in style”
No matter what you call the thing
It made you precious all the while

The bell bottoms and hip hugger jeans
Make your daddy cringe with disgust
He doesn’t understand the fads
But he buys them so you won’t fuss

It’s hard to believe you're growing up
Not long ago I held you in my arms
Now I’m watching you as a young lady
Develop wit, intelligence and charms

Remember one thing in the next few years
As we clash, fuss, fight and tangle
I’ll always love you, this you can beat
No matter how you look at it from any angle!!!

How well I remember those days and sometimes I even miss them but she is a woman now and has a daughter of her own. I hope she remembers what it was like when we clashed and fought and made up again. Very well written!

I'm not there yet. 3 yrs to go with my son. 4 for my eldest daughter. But I think we're already experiencing some of this. She has always had her own thought and ways. We already tangle. But no matter what, you always love them and make up. Great job!
