~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The day has finally arrived -
To cross that bridge of wonder -
My palms are all hot & sweaty,
My heart is booming like thunder !!
I've worn a path on my rug -
From all the pacing - I wait...
The clock on the wall ticks loud,
Our first official "real date"...
I know - only your image -
And all the words that we type -
This thing called Internet Love,
Is certainly worth all the Hype !!!
I've never jumped off of a cliff -
or out of a moving plane -
I've never done that "bungee-thing"
But Hell, this sure feels the same !!!!!!!
No caffeine - - for me today,
It would be the death of me...
I'm restricted to bedrest,
While I wait impatiently .............
So that I don't hurt myself -
As I wring my hands and wait...
Like I said before, this is
our first official "real date".
The time is drawing nearer -
Check my lipstick & my hair,
Cause first impressions - they stick
Yeah, like sweaty underwear !!!!
I sit here prim & proper -
Powdered, primped & feeling fine,
With breath as fresh as cool mint -
While I gulp a glass of wine !
We agreed last night to "meet" -
So I reach now for the phone....
Oh jeeze, my hands are shaking - - - -
That's the longest Dialtone !!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

*** Trembling grin *** Just wanted to keep everyone posted that Juliet has finally decided to call her Romeo - today at 1:00 or shortly thereafter the wine wears off !! LOL Although he still doesn't have my #, I'm gonna take a flying leap of faith & erase the 2000 miles that keeps our voices & souls separate... I had no intention of this being a comical poem at all, however, I tend to laugh a lot when I get nervous, so I don't pass out - - LOL !!!
Just the anticipation of hearing his voice finally, makes me want to bite all my nails off !! Wish us luck as we attempt our first REAL conversation !! I crack myself up - I feel 15 again !!!! What a way to add years to your life, just fall madly in love !!

To you my friend I wish you luck
(sure hope he don't sound like Donald Duck)
If he does, use your sexiest Minnie voice.
Just be Goofy and in love rejoice!!

He says he's kinda deep & scruffy -
And has a Southern drawl....
Sometimes them Californian cowboys -
can drive me up a wall !!! YEE-HAW ****

Well, "driving" is good when you're talking cowboys and "cattle"....right? Or is that "flocks, sheep and shepherds" I'm thinking of.....??????

Better stick with Cowboys and cattle, darlin'. You all start talkin' sheep and next thing you know, Balladeer's in here "drivin'" everything in sight.

ROFL @ sounds like Donald Duck... these two are too lovestruck to care! LOL

Good luck, Femme. I remember my first phone conversation with Chris, my heart was pounding, my hands were sweating. But then I heard his sexy voice, with that slow Texas drawl and all was fine. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Completely understandable...what a wonderful feeling that is....still recall first intrepid phone call to Satiate...pre-arranged time, across two zones, staring at the clock, willing the minutes to digitally click...waiting, pacing, looking, trying to read, playing with phone card, listening to winamp, toying with the phone, peeking at the clock, checking time on computer.....nerve wracking that was.

Now all I have to wait for it the three weeks before my flight leaves to meet Satiate....I'm already packed, living out of my suitcases...

pFF, I truly wish you the best of luck, and I hope this becomes something you want, and someone you want. Ignore, if possible, any and all dating advice found in women's magazines, unless you and your paramour really really like high-school head games. :P

PoetFemme, I do remember,
Think it was in September,
Back in nineteen sixty eight,
I was just a kid, things were great.

A blind date I was waiting for,
Knew she was sweet, nuthin' more,
I was waiting for her to call,
Going nuts, nervous and all,
Was supposed to meet her at nine or so,
Going crazy, ready to go,
It was around eight fifty five,
So I mixed a drink, just to survive,
Had three more, passing the time,
Before I knew it, it was almost nine.
When she called, I was finally calm,
She picked me up, went out on the town.
Got drunk, got laid, had a great time,
And I'm sure your meeting, will go just fine!

I was starting to wonder where the heck you
went. I sort of got a hoot out of this one.
I was out for about a week, my hard drive went out the window, just got this beast up'
and running, I was surprised, no email from
you, my friend, remember I miss ya too!!!
Oh yeah by the way good luck!!!

Oh wow - I swear it's worth it!!!
You're going to feel that much closer to him, I promise you - it'll also add a new edge to the missing too! I wager it'll also increase your phone bills, cause one sound of Christopher's voice had me craving for more - and it sure hasn't stopped! Good luck on controlling your new addiction.....
