The Triple Goddess hangs above this earth, Divine justice springs from the Rule of Three. Mother, Maiden, and Crone, rule us from birth. All evil that you do turns back on thee. The Mother's swollen womb is the full moon. It is from her that destiny is born. To babies her song young mothers do croon. To follow the Mother's path I have sworn. Maiden she is when moon is at crescent. She then is the peak of all men's desire. Her slender body is luminescent. Maiden fills mankind with such lustful fire. Crone reveals herself in fullest dark. By her will the whole of mankind greets death. We fall like wheat before her sickle's arc. The Crone is owed the dying's final breath. The Goddess' path must be walked all your life. Not once can you turn from preordained fate. To leave the Goddess is inviting strife. Doom comes with the destiny you create. Power fades with the coming of Christ. Roman legions come to spread his glory. Into the Goddess' heart the Romans sliced. Thus will begin this betrayal's story. At swordpoint the faithful were converted. The worship of Christ they were forced to learn. The Goddess' followers were subverted. Her forgiveness and mercy they did spurn. One held her faith far longer than the rest. Determined Romans have broken her soul. Her pagan faith failed the ultimate test. Only in Christ will they let her be whole. Body broken, before the cross she kneels. Mumbling she speaks aloud the Lord's prayer. With such blasphemous words her fate she seals. Old oaths to the Goddess she does forswear. Words of venomous penance leave her lips. Doing so makes her feel unforgiven. On the floor from her hands crimson blood drips. The Romans wont let her die unshriven. She's bound and chained to her funeral pyre. It's built of sacred woods; Oak, Ash, and Thorn. Callous disregard lights the bonfire. Between Christ and the Goddess she is torn. Up her body the flames begin to burn. Rising heat does fan her hair all about. She realizes the worm indeed does turn. In Christ she now realizes there is doubt. Her anguished agony cries out to Christ. Holy silence echoes back to her ears. She remembers when the Goddess sufficed. Her blinded eyes are crying desperate tears. From within the pain begins to recede. The Goddess appears to more than her eyes. Feeling shame makes her unable to plead. Love for the Goddess wins out so she tries. The Crone's sickle flashes ending her life. Mother holds her soul to her healing breast. Maiden guides her soul to the afterlife. The Goddess' mercy grants eternal rest. Full circle has come Wiccan betrayal. Goddess' betrayer Christ also bewrays. Such was the purpose of this portrayal. Goddess welcomes back any child that strays. ©1999 DreamEvil ------------------ Now and forever my heart hears ~one voice~. DreamEvil© |

A tale well told ... Paganism has always fascinated me ... though a Christian, I believe no tale is told that does not hold a glimmer of truth ... many religious people believe that what they think they do know is what is important ... I tend to think that it is what we DON'T know that makes life all the more interesting, for the unknown holds the mystery ... This is an interesting story Dream!! I think it's been awhile since I've read anything from you...hmm...I don't remember!! Just looking around the archives to see what treasures I see....You should repost this in Spirtual Journeys!!!! Just an idea...I think others would enjoy this too!! Believing in Paganism far before I'll embrace Christianity, I love this! With a little piece of tomorrow, You'll have to kiss yesterday goodbye. Because today won't last forever, And the past will only make you cry. |
