Appearing gently in the night
And stepping down from the cross
As if the shadow from the light
As if an eagle caught in flight
My reaching fingers slowly froze

He spoke to me and told me this:
“Go forth and spread your gift, my son
The blind Cupid mostly missed
But you were hit so share your bliss
Make others warm, divide the sun”

“I tried to preach, nobody listened
I tried to write, they burned it all
I tried to stop them, tried to reason
I tried to speak and got imprisoned
They left a hole inside my soul”

“Salvation comes to those who wait
It is a task each man must face
Without sorrow none are great
Consume your pride and face your fate
And share your light, burn with a blaze”

“I’m not half-worthy of this gift
With both, my friends and with my foes
I’ll share my wealth, I’ll share my grief
Just grant me God a chance to breathe
And I shall die for a worthy cause”

He disappeared just as he came
And blended gently with the dark
As if the world has found its frame
As if awoken by a flame
I found myself in Noah’s Ark

I'd not change a thing, dear! I loved it

Excellent piece, Master. I read this a couple of times earlier tonight and wanted to read it again before commenting! I am interpreting Noah's Ark as synonymous with salvation. Is that correct? I thought this was very well done!
