DO I HAVE A PLAN?

I wonder as I sit here on this calm October night
And watch the sparkling fireflies bouncing, flitting in flight
Had I fled my place, my home, my life
Because my heart was filled with strife
Do I have a plan?

I wonder did I wing my way to this far foreboding land
With flat plains, billowing trees, and soft hills of sand
Was it to gain the needed time to look into my soul
And reflect how last year has abruptly taken its toll
Do I have a plan?

I wonder when I gazed into his eyes, just one year ago
How could electricity travel in such unending flow
And as the year passed, together we did fit
Like a massive Christmas tree, every candle lit
Did I have a plan?

I wonder how he IS each moment of everyday
Is he safe and warm and happy as he goes along his way
Will he find a love like ours, his dream a child she will bare
Or will he settle for less and pay the highest fare
Do I have a plan?

Now I wonder as once more the strings I reach up to pull
“His” echoing voice booms down at me, fearful, loud and full
“Like the fireflies I’ve made that flit from place to place
I have allowed the same for you, with insurmountable grace”

“I, the puppeteer, have placed you there, you see”
“I control the strings, and you are nothing without me
Are you still wondering do a plan you need
Is your heart heavy-laden reaching out to grasp with greed

Are you totally ready for ALL I have to give
Then if you are with ME you’ll truly begin to live”
Do I have a plan?????? NOPE, don’t need one
Plan’s already done!

I sit here in awe my friend... so many times you have claimed that you are no poet. I think even you do not realize your potential. This was an incredible piece of work. So many heartfelt and emotion packed statements here. What more can I say.. You my friend.. are a poet!

Lucie, Lucie, you made me cry. Thanks to you for all the support and for turning me on to this place. This is my 2nd. poem and it took me days to write. My first love has always been painting procelain, but now, all I want to do is read, and write. Thank you from the bottom and top of my heart!

Thank you for your kind words Pepper, they mean a lot, and lend quite a hand toward encouragement.

Tabin, you rascal, an amatuer I am, but I plan to be around here a lot. Thanks for the wonderful support.

Dsnyder, thank you for your reply. It took me many months before I had the nerve to post replys because I was such a chicken.

Puf...I'm truly no poet...I too love this place, have learned a great deal, (though it doesn't show cuz the way this little mind of mine works), but I've still learned alot. Nobody looks for perfection here, nor criticizes unless you ask for critique. I think that's one of the many things that makes this place special. Nobody expects anyone to have the expertise of Ron, Balladeer, Nan or many of the others...and everyone does have something to offer me thinks. Good job, keep striving in the direction you're going!

Thank you, Toerag, for the words of encouragement. I suppose anything that is new is a bit intimidating, and there are quite a few good artist in here it learn from. (including yourself) Oh, I have followed the ToeTag series, and have had a lot of laughts, too! You do crack me up!

Thanks for the read Suthern. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Thanks Bubbles. Long ago, I came to know that we are not the master of our future. We only like to think we are. Thank you for the read and the mail. Nice to see that some is buying my art work , too.
