Glittering iridescent wings
Fiery eyes of which angel sings
Majestic head turning to and fro
A love filled heart of which no one will know

Alone she sits in her tower dank and dark
Watching and listen to the sound of the lark
The town all fears her wrath on this day
For it is the day her mate they did slay

Four years have past and appease they have not
For that she holds dear breath icy hot
And waits for the day when reunited they are
Oh why oh why does it seem so far

Alone she has been in her tower up high
Forlorn and forgotten she knows not why
Two hearts that beat as one when they flew
Two hearts that meant only one which was true

He was slain for their fear
They knew him not
Never knowing how dear
He was to her heart

As large as the ship
That sails in the night
But peaceful and gentle
Not one to cause fright

He flew high as a kite in the afternoon sky
A smile on his lips and a glint in his eye
Wings unfurled and glistening bright
Dragon maybe but also Her Knight

Wonderful story, and very touching. I love the way you express a Dragon can have a softer side, and be capable of loving too.
Well done.
