Twice the more

I have her twice within my heart,
The younger and grown-up part.
One fascinates my eyes today
The other dreamy yesterday.

Her innocent warmed me through,
The childish trust that I knew.
Even todays superintend,
God, I love them both, no end.

She is to me a real compound,
The inner and the outward bound.
The two of her, are one shell.
The two of her, ring one bell.

The tongue that struck the first adore
And the back swing, to evermore.

What a lovely way to explain how all we parents feel about our children, of then and now! I've never heard it expressed so well!

Pulls at my heartstrings.
Sentimentally done.

I don't know, Denise. I thought it was about his wife. How about it, Sy?

...ooops, guess my mind dwells on my kids too much ?!!

Very lovely poem, Seymour, capturing the person of the past and the person of the present and appreciating them both for what they were and are to you! AND MANY HAPPY FUTURES TO YOU BOTH!!!!

(thanks, Balladeer!)

"I have her twice within my heart"

**sigh**, and to think I might have settled for just once! What a tender sentiment, Seymour!

Once again,
To all of my good friends and more,
I must move on to form four.
Thank you all and will see you there.
