Deep Waters

I am fearful of deep water
where the undersurface
is a confidential
and unobserved place.

I often glance back
to the shallows
near the water's edge
same as an infant
yearning for it's
mother's embrace.

However the seducement
of deep water
pulls at my soul
and weans me from
security.

Robert

People who think like this normally wind up in over their heads! Unfortunately, I know that pull all too well. Good job, Robert.

Standing at the water's edge,
I slowly let go of your hand ...
confident, that you'll tred.

RobertB,
Being in over your head isn't bad if you have learned to swim.

ooooh, I have been in deep water. Can't swim, but learned to dog paddle just enough to get my head out of the water! Lovely poem.

I am deathly afraid of deep water...it is almost a phobia with me.
