I am the last snow flake to fall with early spring- And the last old goose in winter to take wing. I’m the lone wolf of the wild, who’s grown too old- To forage, so I perish in the cold. I’m the last faint twinkle in a dimming eye- Of an old man, when it comes his time to die. I’m the last tear drop of every broken heart- I’m the first step of the ones who never start. I am the residue of everything that’s good- The ashes of a structure which once stood... I’m the broken vows which never seem to last.. I guess I am the ghost of Christmas past. I’m the sound which falls on every deafened ear- And to the blind the vision so unclear.... I’m billows found upon the placid sea- In a word, I guess you’d say that I am ME! |

Great poem, what's it doing down here it needs to be up there where everyone can see it!! Craig ------------------ Yes, I admit your general rule. That every poet is a fool: But I myself may serve to show it. That every fool is not a poet. |
