It's a miracle what the earth gives,
From water and sun and seed,
The beauty of flowers that paint the earth,
And food to fill our needs.

I don't have a green thumb for growing,
But love watching the garden grow,
Seeing the seeds turn into plants,
The miracle of life from the soil.

I do my gardening only at night,
Filling my basket with the fruits of one's labor,
Besides it's the safest time of the day,
(Cuz the garden's my next store neighbor's).

ROFL @ next store.... I think I have some neighbors like that! LOL. Even with the neglect mine suffered this summer, my garden is still providing me with beautiful flowers and a few veggies... The work is hard, but the rewards are many! *G* (And ya should have asked, Toe... you can shop from my garden in the daytime... anytime! *G*)

Oh, my kind of person, Toe. I have a brown thumb. Can destroy even artificial plants.
Nicely done.

I DO have a green thumb and a garden full of flowers... not a veggie in sight though many flowers are edible. Glad to know I'm probably safe from your midnight walks! And, oh yes, I really enjoyed your poem.

Hmmmm... I guess this should put to rest all those nasty rumors that were floating around a month or so ago about grocery stores and produce sections, hunh? Who needs them! *G*

WhtDove: You might indeed! LOL. I'd love to say a thing or two to the person who helped themselves to a tomato I'd planned on having for dinner! *G*

Oh, no you don't. I see that you set this whole thing up so that I would break the rules by talking about you filling your baskets with fruits but I ain't gonna do it. At least ya know that you can go live in Snow In Summer's garden if ya need to. She said she lacks veggies!

I grew a 'tater
for a cute tomater',
she threw it back at me !

I tell you, I enjoyed it not.
Now all the fruits of my labor
end up in the stewing pot.

*Great gardner you are, Mr. Toe.
You can plunder my garden anytime.

Well, for a moment I thought, hey, a serious Toerag poem.....'tis a rare occasion. And then I was (pleasently) suprised to know there was a humorous twist at the end...typical Toerag style....

Nice work
