What's it for this thing called war? I just don't understand, The rush to get to heavens door, does god really need a hand? I won't be the cause of the tears of a unknown mother, I shan't heed the politicians cry, I can't take anothers son,husband,father,brother, they can't make me,I'm sure they'll try, Blood is not the measure of the man, I won't be fooled by soaring speeches, you can try and take me if you can, It's wrong you see,the bible teaches, I'm not going to those foreign fields, man's attempt to bring earth to hell, I've seen death ,I know it's yields, I'm staying put,I'm sorry that won't sell, Go elsewhere to harvest your sorrow, for your sacrifice of pride, I won't fight for you today or tomorrow, I'll argue my case,I won't try to hide, And while the medals on victors chests are showered, and the newspapers lament the end of strife, I'll wear the badge of the coward, Because I couldn't take anothers life, [This message has been edited by Patrick B (edited 11-04-1999).] [This message has been edited by Patrick B (edited 11-04-1999).] |
