Poor Little Words Poor little orphaned words Abandoned and alone Censored for their commonness Condemned for clichés. No one wants to utter them They shrivel up and die Too usual for poetry Too plain for writing prose Hackneyed expressions Mixed up with habituality Rolled in colloquialism And sprinkled with the ordinary Poor little orphaned words Abandoned and alone Censored for their commonness Condemned for clichés.
