A truly loving woman, was exactly what she was A giving , caring person - who always showed me love Her arms were always safe, her embrace was always warm She always let me know, I could come to her if torn But her time on earth has passed, after 92 long years She lives among the angels, while here I shed my tears I know that she is happy now, for there is no more pain I'd give anything to have her back, my head on her heart again But death is just a part of life, of that she always said Be strong, be faithful and believe, and to HIM you will be led So now I look around my house, and touch familiar things The table where she once served lunch, the box that held her rings The bed that held her small feeble frame, right until the end Upon which now my daughter sleeps - her namesake and best friend I love you Grandma and always will - your heart was so pure I only hope to live up to you, I'll try of that I'm sure So when you're looking down on me, and give me a soft kiss I'll know that it is an angels lips, for forever you'll be missed |

A perfect way to remember your grandma, Spoongirl, and to give us a glimpse of the person she was. ------------------ *Elizabeth* "Dwelt a maid belov'd and cherish'd by high and low, But with autumn leaf she perish'd, long time ago..." "Something sweet, something sort of grandish, sweeps my soul when thou art near..." |
