I woke to your sleep
this morning
soft echoes of deep breathing
I inhaled your body
and consumed the moment
that you would wake
to all this love
that binds us
I waited an eternity
through these seconds
that passed slowly
until you opened your eyes
and smiled at the morning

as I write these words
you kiss my neck
and hold my breast
in your warm hand
our long day begins
moments to pass until
you can make love to me
again, tonight
