As I look up to the heavens - On a warm summers' night - I envision all the twinklings - As the stars give off their light... And somewhere out among them there's only one for me - In my heart...I've looked forever, In my mind...I cannot see - Just which star, way out there... Is that perfect one for me... So in vain and in confusion - I have wandered through this life... Searching for that "just right" soul-mate... That eludes me day and night. Like countless waves upon the beaches - like grains of desert sand - All the stars that I've examined - have became vapors in my hand... So I'll just keep on sifting - Through the moments of each day... To satisfy a heart-felt longing... That my soul will have it's way... Maybe, perhaps just maybe - Some day, my star will fall... Her glory will be mine for ever - A "soul-mate" - - - After all..... ------------------ A man's heart often cannot see the light - because of the darkness of it's own motives.... - James David |
