The world is full of conflict, war, chaos, sadness, and woe
Ghettos, slums, homeless bums, children with no place to go
Yet in the darkness of the chaos in our measured lives
Lies a part of us that so earnestly strives
To find people among humans a limited few
Who are honest, loyal, and all around true blue
We call these people friends and we all travel on a ship
Made of caring and love and hands to catch us when we slip

We and our friends share a common bond
Similarities of personalities that over the years we become fond
But alas for we are merely mortal, some friends we see no more
They are suddenly escorted to the waiting distant shore
And though we shed a sea of tears and though it makes us cry
We move on, cherish the memories and realize that friends die

But now on another note, there are other ways to lose a friend
Hating to drag the sorrow further soon my point will end
We don't always go through life with the same frame of mind
Disputes, arguments, and differences we soon will find
And soon that common bond you had you no longer want to share
That special meeting ground you once had you no longer go there
More painfull than losing friends to death by health or edge of knife
Is to lose friends because of human differences: to lose friends to life

Yes, it is a tragedy. Very excellent piece, Rico. I enjoyed reading this.
