ONE DAY

What's the weather like in Memphis?
Cause it's sure cold here tonight.
On nights like this I am amiss,
It's dark, where is your light?

Where is my gift from the Graces?
Where is your love, so true?
As the darkness interlaces...
Every thought, missing you.

Is it warm where you are sleeping?
Does a smile touch your lips?
Can you somehow feel my weeping,
With dreaming fingertips?

I wonder in the freezing cold
Of my own mind-bent storm...
If one day I will ever hold
You in physical form.

No stars out there emitting light,
I wonder in this gloom...
Did you blow me a kiss tonight,
For one shouldn't assume.

Is the moon shining in Memphis?
Cause it sure seems black here.
Tonight, it's only you I miss,
It's tomorrow I fear.

I wish I could just hear you say,
"Remember, I love you."
Though I made it without you one day,
Babe, please don't make it two.

I do not envy your phone bills...A very touching sentiment. I too know what it's like to be away from the one you love. My prayer for you both is that the distance closes. Nice poem, Michael.

Michael, all the same thoughts have crossed my mind that you speak of in this poem. Distance can be unmeasurable sometimes when it comes to the distance between two hearts. It's hard to try to imagine what the other one is doing, thinking, feeling sometimes. It isn't long until December when you and Gennifer shall meet. Until then my friend, keep your chin up.

** Come here and let me hold you ** aahh...that's better...I really liked this poem, it speaks volumes of the thoughts that go on in your mind - - a bit scarey, but I know where you're coming from...I am here babe, sometimes life demands much of our time...please have faith when I am away...thank you for finishing this beautiful piece.
Remember, I love you.

Michael this is the first poem I've ever read from you and it's beautiful. I'm writing because I tried to email you and it didn't work. Turns out my friends house burned down and in it my poem book!! I posted a poem called "Abortion" a while back ago. is there any way you can send me another copy? If you email me back please make sure you write my email address instead of just pressing foward because for some reason they all go under my sisters email since the computer is under her name. Sorry if I'm wasing you time. Your poem is great I loved it!
