My Day-To-Day

Sometimes feeling the Heathen Kingdom is pounding on my back
And I'm criticized and scrutinized constantly labeled wack
Called out, put on the spot, no human mercy given
Always told to lighten up and stop my old fashion livin'
Tracts are bald up and torn up, and others give me the finger
Most embarassments are shaken off but often some will linger
My blood inside is boiling like the center of the sun
Making me liable to snap on command wishing I had a gun
To make them pay for their reject of Christ and bruising of my pride
But thoughts of murder overriden by my love of Christ inside
Yet still hurting, begging to God to somehow make them pay
To give some satisfaction of justice and take my pain away
Then God reminds me that these persecutors have a terrible fate
Reminding me that if they died today they won't see heaven's gate
So every day I must tell my tormentors to repent or burn in hell
And never let this indignation inside of me to swell
For when I take God's simple truths and put them to application
I can effectively witness at school and share God's free salvation

Hi Rico and welcome!!

Fervor and zeal are strong emotions, aren't they? :-))

thanks for both, in ministry and poetry.

re: ministry ...

those with the call to preach often, mistake that call for a call to see results, and measure their obedience and effectiveness in terms of results, when the preacher is not asked to measure them nor wished to do so.

Just do as your calling dictates and be obedient to it both when/if multitudes respond as well as when zero do.

Results are not a measurement one way or the other, to the preacher and He is responsible
for them, when and if any.

And in the final analysis, it may not have been converts He wanted from you, just the obedience of a pure heart...

be of good cheer, young friend...

preach on til He says otherwise
and write your poetry not about rejection
of men but about being loved by Him...

excelsior,

HA

Welcome to Passions, Rico! I give a big Amen to H.A.'s words above. A little help perhaps from me too....keep your mind on the things above, whatever is lovely, holy and good! The world is and always will be a dark place, but we don't have to let our minds dwell there, that does no good for yourself or anyone else. Again, welcome to Passions. I'm sure you'll love it here! It's a great outlet for those intense emotions!

I understand your feelings on this.
