Keturah Like countless other Negev nights the stars close in to touch, warm and friendly diamond lights display their joy as much as painted skies to setting sun or hope espied afar. Yet, far from my disquietude, these friends a lifetime long, a sleepless, restive attitude supplants the bridal song whose lyric strains should have begun to heal an inward scar. I am my father's property as are his wife and herd, a husband he's found for me, my plaintive pleas absurd to make, it is the contract done, a bargain love can't bar. "Oh Deity, a maiden's pleas whose summers, now sixteen, deliver from unjust decrees, abridge these years between one hundred fifty he has won and mine the marriage par." "Hear well the Voice of desert nights who'd bless your mind at ease, you are a gift to urge delights on him his Maker sees despite his age, faith's noble son, Keturah's six time star." --H. Enjoyed it very much. I wonder if I have a large enough herd....hmmm.... ------------------ No matter where you go, somebody's probably already been there and gotten the parking space... |
