Only A Visit To The Light

I shall only visit the light
for Your work through me is not done,
I shall only visit the bright
and briefly say hello to your Son.

I am only here for a fleeting moment
to let You know I’ll be OK,
my days on earth are far from spent,
I know You hear what I pray.

I shall only visit the light
to let You know I’m fine,
and thank You for giving me sight
and to think You’re so inclined

In keeping me here a bit longer on earth,
to share Your love to all around
for You’ve been with me long before birth,
and You’ve never let me down.

I shall only visit the light,
and then return to my quest
to find passion in all that believe
as I go through this, Your test.

Fear not, my friends, for in His plan
He foresaw this, and other things grand,
There is a reason to descry this fate,
as there are no reasons to pray without wait.

Friends, do not linger with your prayers,
and know that I am in His care,
for I briefly went to visit the light,
and I foresaw my future, bright.

You may email me if you wish to discuss the editing of this message...but I would advice a softer tone before you do so.

Sy, Michael, Pepper, Watcher, thank you for reading. I hope PdV's friend Brian will be all right.

And Michael, thank you for so promptly editing the one post. It was quite disheartening to read, considering the circumstances that created this piece.

You're quite welcome, Sunshine, although I had hoped no one at all saw that particualr post. Brian and PDV are in all our prayers but this poem will mean so much to both of them, I personally would like to say thank you the effort you put into it.

I love to see people come together like this!
It's a shame that the rest of the world can't be as wonderful as the people in here!
Thank you for helping to bring us together sunshine!

PdV, we are all hoping for the best. I hope you friend's mother gained some comfort - it is so very hard to know what to say. Just your being there helps, we know.

Tori, thank you very much for your kind words. Yes, all poems should come from the heart. Mine do.

Wayout - glad to see you're back. Thanks for coming in, catching up.

Munda, thank you.

Christopher - we should all pull together - we are all we have...

Sunshine, this is beautiful. I'm sure that Brian and his family will appreciate it as much as PdV and we all do.

Whtdove and denise, thank you both for your kind words. Given the circumstances, this is the least we can do, sharing our thoughts, and our prayers.
