Darkness draws its' ebony curtain
On the play of the day.
Birds deepen their tones,
Shortening the luster of their songs.
Dawn's twin fades,
Taking the color from the sky,
Leaving only shades of grey,
And no promise of sunrise.
Life stills,
And I prepare for slumber.
And I,
I close my eyes.
