Alright...here I go...closing eyes and holding breath...jumping head first.

There was going to be a party.
It was going to be a blast.
There was going to be a party.
That fact was hard and fast.

We held it in the summer.
We held it in Balladeer's field.
We had to hold it there.
For there was quite a yield.

People came from north and south.
From east and west they fled.
People came from all around.
Each another led.

There was food and drink aplenty.
Fun and friendship shared.
Laughter rose above the din.
Cause everybody cared.

Later in the afternoon.
A game the men did play.
Football was the challenge.
The best would show that day.

Toerag was a captin.
So was Balladeer.
Andrew Scott amoung the lot.
Sailor taking up the rear.

As the ladies chatted.
The game was underway.
Dsynder, hoot, WhtDove.
Laughed with me at their play.

And now our drinks were empty.
Needed to refill.
And on my way to fill them.
Disaster left it's chill.

Toerag was bombarded.
He needed to throw the ball.
A pass he desperately looked for.
He saw none at all.

Suddenly he saw him.
Sailor was quite free.
Toe launched the ball into the air.
The direction right at me.

The pass was long and sure and straight.
Sailor coming in fast.
I was oblivious to my fate.
My thoughts were on the past.

Then there was the collision.
An impact great indeed.
Suddenly we were on the ground.
Laying amoungst the weed.

Everyone then crowded.
To insure we were alright.
Everyone then crowded.
Oh what a pitiful sight.

Sailor got up from the ground.
Less tossled from the plight.
To catch my breath a problem.
A horrible liitle fright.

Arise I tried but was aghast.
To find that I could not.
There on my skirt, at mid thigh.
Was a tiny dot.

The dot the grew slowly.
A crimson sheen it was.
The glass I had been carrying.
It had to be the cause.

I raised my skirt up slowly.
To investigate my thigh.
The sight exposed chilled me.
It almost made me cry

For there it was embedded.
In my milky thigh.
A shard of glass most painful.
A momento of our crash.

Now Balladerr and Toerag.
Andrew and the rest.
Were sweet as pie about my thigh.
You know they are the best.

But not a word from Sailor.
About this mishapped event.
Not a word from Sailor.
I wonder where he went?

The moral of this story.
The lesson to be learned.
If your banged up by a drunken Sailor.
You only will get burned!

I didn't say a word to Marilyn,
I was embarrassed thru and thru.
I thought she liked the barrelin',
Cuz she said, "Was it good for you?"

i was quite amused by your piece
a work of art indeed
it deserves a spot at the top
for a while, to say the least.

suicidal dreams...this was written with the intent of getting myself in trouble with a few of the members here.

Genea....Thankyou.

Dennise...Sounds? You were there, don't you remember? LOL. Drink too much? the hurt part was to get in the "Drunken Sailor" punch line in.

Don't think it was a football
That Ol' Toerag threw.
What Long John tried to catch
Was Balladeer's young ewe.

You see the guys were trying
To roast the poor young sheep.
When Toerag yelled out loud
"Hey Long John, go out deep!"

Long John caught it on a fly
And had a wrestling match.
That's when the poor thing bleeped
His head became detached.

That little spot that seemed to grow
You sure that it was blood?
Or was it when the headless ewe
Dragged Long John through the mud?
