Upon the night that I was born Some many years a yore, The north-sea waves came rushing in And crashed unto the shore. The northern light it shone the way For my mother dear and me, King Neptune roared a thunderous laugh: 'Your soul belongs to the sea my boy, Your soul belongs to the sea'. As storm clouds gathered one by one Under January skies, Sea eagles soared, their wings spread wide, They heard my mothers cries. A candle flickered somewhere far, 'Twas not for us to see, One soul had lost it's light that night, 'But you belong to me my son, Yes, you belong to me. In heart I am my mothers child, Her son, to have and hold, The love we have for one another Cannot be bought or sold. But deep within, inside myself, Where no one else can see, I hear King Neptunes thunderous laugh: 'Your soul belongs to the sea my boy, Your soul belongs to the sea'. |

This is like a breath of fresh sea air (which we need here in Phoenix). Wonderful....you don't post often enough, Wolfgang. I love your work. |

Nan, how'd you capture the essence of him on his yacht??? I've been wondering that too! Wolfgang, this is a brilliant example of a sea captain's handwriting. Poet deVine seems to be as eager as I am to see more of your most excellent poems. ------------------ Nimrod the Hunter [This message has been edited by Nimrod the Hunter (edited 06-14-99).] |

Very, very well done, Wolfgang. The words flow in perfect rhythym with the movement of the sea, allowing the reader to experience the pleasure of both, which I did enthusiastically. More, please! |

I found this one by Wolfgang (one of my favorite poets)on the 42nd page. I must've missed it the first time it was posted. I'm glad I went back and looked. There's a lot of good stuff back there. Great one Wolfgang, as always! |

I went deep sea fishing, and this is what I caught, and such a great catch at that. |
