This is a poem by my friend, Charlotte. I'm so full with life If I force another helping down It will become an illness I cannot bear I'm chained to today With lovely apathy and razorblades Singing songs of tasting flesh and eating you whole They sing the stories of the present Of the people trapped in a shadow world Where their prison walls are thicker than tears Thicker then the life they will attempt to betray Thicker than any substance this infinate burden can provide When you can't see through the shadows of a lonely piece of cardboard A motionless quiet nothing that is always listening but never acknowledged Always empty and never full Destroyed lay in disgust and dissected by intricate interrogations and superficial minds Minds that want to get straight to her core And make her subside until she rots like they are They think her blood is made of poison and boils and churns when she inhales a breath of air They call her a slut and they call her a whore And she keeps it inside as her emotions bruise and her empathy burns She feels fake but knows it's real from the lies and horrors she's faced. She's a common teenage girl Addicted to sorrow and addicted to her pills. Addicted to her problems and addicted to lies.
