When I get bigger can I go around the block? Or maybe even put on my own socks? "Yes"her mother say's. When I get bigger can I go to school? Or dress up in your outfits and look real cool? "Yes"her mother say's. When I get bigger can I play on the slide? Or maybe go out to the beach and watch the tide? "Yes"her mother say's. When I get bigger can I kiss the boys? And forget about playing with all the toys? "Yes"her mother say's. When I get bigger can I have children and marry? Or buy a dog that's really hairy? "Yes"her mother say's. When I get bigger can I be a grandma? And tell the children to call me Na Na? "Yes"her mother say's. When I get bigger can I die and go to heaven? Maybe like when I'm seventy seven? Her mother say's "I know that day will come." "But I hope that I'll be up there and will have so much fun." So. "Yes"her mother says. |

This is cute...it like it's simplicity. To be a child again and see things in the light of their eyes, it would be wonderful.... ------------------ "Nobody has measured, not even poets, how much the heart can hold" ~Zelda Fitzgerald |

Oh, how this one rings so true. My three and four year olds are already asking such questions. Although very light, I like how the mother doesn't try to hide and protect even from the tough questions of boys and death. Thanks for the smile |

Digging around the archives for lost treasures and came across this simply wonderful piece about a mother and her daughter!! I loved this...the simplicity and everything!!
