The shades of pain await For the last of her breath. They hunger for her flesh - Longing at last for her death. The grin of their evil Has flushed over their lips And they wait in amusement until Into the darkness she slips. Oh how they've stroked her And wished for her there. They've been infatuated with The sweet scent of her hair. Her life is their plaything; They toy with her intentions. They tie up her mind With desire of abstentions. They crawl to the most silent Places of her curiosity To sew their darkend thread Of impiety and animosity. A more worthy partner? They will find none Because she is the sinner- The impenitent one. Lovely darkness, I know where the sentiment comes from. I can really feel this one!! ------------------ Patience is a virtue, but virtue has never been one of my redeeming qualities. |

"Would I were free from this restraint, or else had hope to win her!.....Would she could make of me a saint or I of her a sinner!" a pleasure to bring this piece of darkness back to the top ![]() ------------------ Tribute to M.J. ... Thanks so much. I didn't get much commentary out of this one as I thought. ![]() ![]() |

I believe this to be an exceptional work. The author of this poem is clearly gifted. Weaving words as delicately as a spider weaves her silken web. I look forward to many more. |
