and Future -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- [ Follow Ups ] [ Post Followup ] [ Critic Corner ] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted by Soleil on June 15, 1999 at 10:45:55: When angels marry in the coming light In time I will unchanged, believe. Resolved of life, I have bettered its' faltering. I have walked out by night, released by dawn. I have outwalked my own too quiet intent. I have held my breath And with awkward release Let it go. And somewhere in the new born distance My fading footsteps find voice. For in the future are all grievings past. On the threshold of her silent chamber I have chosen to answer The unanswering day, Even as sorrow turns in upon tomorrow. The birds are now quiet, Stilled by a God, lessened by his refusal, And it has begun to rain. If one listens one can hear A hymn of tears, shed one by one That pierces the veil of years. It is interlaced With a past reconciled to a future. Where rock remains undisturbed. |
