Youth And Age

When the anger and frustration have ceased
Age will confirm its' opinion of youth,
But the two will not be as one in peace
Despite communion in their search for truth.

Who will answer the open deception
Played when youth argues for a change in years
For age knows that youth has no conception
Of decreasing life or increasing fear.

And though each stage gambles with its own debt
In what is owed to the future and past
There can be no loss or profit not met
For the die of decision has been cast.

Age holds the reins of knowledge not given
Youth drives time, and its' bidding thus driven.
