Inside, Not Out Just opened my eyes, my heart and my mind. Unde the stars a wonder did I find. Did God send a blessing? Is she what she seems? Torn from my imagination How'd she escape from my dreams? Meticulous complexity And a heart that dulls the sun Rising from a cold, dark past I know that she has begun An emotional march into the future Yet inside she has arrived. Once against horrendous odds Ultimately she has survived. Now I have been touched, my heart exclaims, and her future is unfurled, God, oh what a miracle you left unto this world. The Last Regret Anything I've done, said, or thought Love fueled the fire, now it's gone, and distraught I sit and I grow, I write and I cry Staring into darkness, tears drop, and I sigh. Once you were special, like none I'd since met Now you're my downfall, a horrible regret. Can love be so blind, so wrong, yet so true? How can this be, this pain, coming from you? Reality is harsh, and through it my soul Inside is dying, I have no control. So you hurt me with pleasure and laugh at my pain, Tearing my heart, knowing love still remains Inside its dark corners, with each beat it hurts more Never to heal, to ease or restore. Each day that I swallow my pride, I'm dying, so slowly, inside. Mysterious you are, such beauty you now hide. I saw you as perfect, felt happy, felt pride Looking in the mirror, at you by my side. Love I have lost to, I feel as though I've died Each time I envision your smile, your caring eyes Right or wrong, I still love you, I soon realize. Acrostics are perhaps my favorite kind of poetry. Here are 2 that I wrote..the first one is about my ex that I am still madly (and stupidly) in love with. The second is about I girl I dated for a few weeks; it was a surprise to get a smile. I have them backwards....the FIRST is the girl and the SECOND is my ex. Sorry. |
