Simple sins aren't so easy to forgive When they are given by self-serving men And I was just a boy among these men Telling me I'd never see her again And I could not believe And I could not go on But I had to anyway There was another day And the nights we had to share I don't think they were aware That I was just a boy Now they say that I'm a man But I still see her as I am Just a boy Just another reason for my father to complain Just another boy to bring my mother pain And I tried all my life but they’re both still dead One in the ground and the other in my head. |
