The magic of Christmas..inspired by Artur The fairy lights are twinkling each one a child's dream and each one sleeps and wonders about the magic he or she will see As Santa creeps about their beds and listens to their dreams he gets requests of love and not trains strange as it seems or maybe they'll be arms held out looking for a hug and not the doll with classic face as many girls dream of He spends too long seeing through their smiles to give the time and gift that each child will remember when as a parent they look back and say "Close your eyes and dream a while, for Santa will arrive and when he does the gift he leaves depends upon your smile" If only... Thank heavens we can smile, children grow up to be us and I'm proud to say, I live within my dreams, I hope and long for my wishes and I live inside my heart... Sweet dreams all HUGS ------------------ You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. |

I am really sorry I missed this one - it was by perchance that I ran across this one, just as my friend was asking me to show her some poems, and I found this not too far from one of my poems. I am sorry, I repeat, sorry that I missed this poem. It is the first time that someone has written a poem because I inspired him/her, but this is better than I expected to receive as a first inspiration from someone! I am leaving netpoets, and tonight is my final night - I am checking the announcements tomorrow for what the others said anyway, just to be fair and give my last thanks. Who cares if my name's spelled wrong! I have seen many others do that. It is spelled A-R-T-U-R in the book I am reading, but he's a king too, similar to the Arthur of Camelot. This is a very eloquent piece for your style of writing, to which I confess I really like, and I miss being a child where fairy tales seemed a reality. This is the magic of Christmas, since Santa has miraculously made many kids smile (anyway!). I hope this one doesn't escape you, the way it escaped me. Sweet dreams to you Hope to hear from you again in a month or two! HUGS [This message has been edited by Artur Hawkwing (edited 08-19-99).] |
