She watched the shadows fall And darken the confines of her room; His shadow loomed upon the wall, Four walls that felt like a tomb. It was her trust upon which he preyed, He knew she would submit to shame; He was stronger than her, so she obeyed, And he labeled her with the blame. Only four walls to watch her cry, Since he was blind to her childish defense; Words of love were his promise and lie, She fell victim to his well-planned pretense. She was left to watch the shadows fall And darken the confines of her room; His shadow loomed upon the papered wall, Those four walls that felt like a tomb. ~~~ Incest is far too prevalent in our society.
