Ok, I wrote this while feeling extremely scared and depressed about the future..I'm starting High School tomorrow and this reflects my fear about loosing my friends and boyfriend once we all go our seperate ways. The path of the future seemed so ominously dark, Clouded by gut wrenching, painful visions of loss. Splashes of glimmering ruby prematurely left their mark, As I silently contemplated what our tomorrow's may cost. As the blackness bled poison into the depths of my soul, I loathed the heavens above that bound me to such grief. Time began shredding my world, I felt it scratching below, And all I wanted was to fade away, to have eternal relief. The thought of loosing you engulfed my raw, heavy heart, For I had never known a love so joyfully vivid as this. Fate had planned us to be as one from the very start, But I feared the demons of change would destroy our bliss. Just when the pain had almost smothered my will for life, The clouds shrouding my vision broke to reveal twinkling light. A silent song spoke volumes, melting away the worst of my strife, And I know that whatever befalls us, we will survive the night. ------------------ *Krista Knutson* I see the world through the loving eyes of my heart, and suffer the pain of unfulfilled visions. -- Daniel L. I would not venture to guess how exceptional a poet you are going to become other than to say some express themselves poetically, some write poetry, and some are born with the heart of a poet. Good luck in high school. |

Krista, you will never have to worry. With your talent and goodness of heart, wherever you go will be the right place because you'll make it so. That old phrase "There are no challenges...only opportunities" certainly applies here. The whole world lies before you. I envy you. Your boyfriend? Write his name on a piece of paper, tuck it away somewhere for 10 years, then take it out and remember the old Balladeer and smile. |

Thank you all very much. Even just writing it out seemed to melt away the fear a bit. I'm sure everything will be ok. ------------------ *Krista Knutson* I see the world through the loving eyes of my heart, and suffer the pain of unfulfilled visions. -- Daniel L. Miller |

Wow ... wish I could start high school again ... **wistful sigh** Alwye, I had no idea you were so young ... not that it is a bad thing ... I have worked with many students your age and have rarely found one so expressive and articulate ... simply apply half the intelligence you have at your disposal and you will go far ... Best of luck ... Nocht |
