The day you left . . . |

The day you left I was in sight of the airport - by coincidence only - I knew that since you hadn't told me goodbye, because you had not left me anything but alone, because there were no fond words, no parting wishes, and certainly no longing-to-stay last glances through rushed terminals - because of this absence of remorse for making me love you - I had not seen you off; I had not told you goodbye; I didn't even know what time you were leaving. I watched for hours; afternoon followed morning as my eyes followed each flight and each vapour trail - I could have kept vigil for months, for years - wondering which one carried you away -- and which might bring you back to me. |

If this is a true account, then Hugs. I haven't encountered you before - so welcome! I love your poem. |

thanks for the welcome, I'm always a little shy to post on these pages, but everyone seems really nice here. ------------------ "All poets are mad" --RobertBurton |

Welcome to Passions. A broken heart makes for good poetry, no? Why do beginning relationships feel so good and ending relationships feel so bad. I wish there was a way to fix the endings so they wouldn't hurt so much. INclan |
