I twist and turn,
I bleed and ache,
I feel the burn...

I need something,
I need love,
An offering...

I’m all alone
amidst a crowd,
backed in to the corner;
a wallflower..

Dressed in blackness,
hindered by hurt,
masking the pain
like a Shakespeare player...

Music is booming,
I observe like a statue
standing in the corner of a
darkened room...

Consumed by hurt,
made up of pain,
suit of armour I wear with
pride...

Why am I here?
Why did I come?
I’m all alone with no
invitation...

If I were to leave,
I might not be missed...
Like an invisible woman
longing for beauty.
