It was just a tiny factory. Few items were displayed. The owner was extremely proud Of everything he made. The orders were all custom-made And tender, loving care Was used in the production of Each thing created there. But then, somehow, the word got out Though he didn't understand The orders came in more and more And things got out of hand. The factory worked around the clock, There were no idle hands. Both day and night, the fires burned bright Fulfilling all demands. But then, one day, the owner saw Quite visibly distressed, That, though production was way up The quality was less. He'd sacrificed the workmanship; No quality control. Pure quantitiy became his aim. He'd lost sight of his goal. And so he finally slowed it down To where it was before So he could feel much prouder of What passed beyond his door. So, if you're asking, "Where's the 'deer?" You people that I love. He's working on your products that He hopes he's worthy of. |

Very good poem Balladeer. I do like the thoughts, and can understand how you feel. Maybe just write the things you feel best about and don't worry too much about the customers. Thanks for the poetry Balladeer. |

I'm right there with you Balladeer Collecting all my wit Sometimes it's just what we must do - Put pieces where they fit. Or else those silly poets might Expect too much from this Prolific Poets' Factory, And then we'd seem remiss..... ------------------ Nay, if our wits run the Wild-Goose chase, I am done: For thou hast more of the Wild-Goose in one of thy wits, Than I am sure I have in my whole five. ~ ²1592 Wm. Balladeer Our emotions are our words and our words are our thoughts, our thoughts become our deeds and you talk us tenderly and lovingly through our needs... I love the way you think..:-)) HUSG ------------------ You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give. |

I know how you feel, Balladeer. I've been there myself. Thank you for posting this one. ------------------ *Elizabeth* "Dwelt a maid belov'd and cherish'd by high and low, But with autumn leaf she perish'd, long time ago..." |

Excellent! I agree with you! And believe me, yours are well worth the wait..and in the meantime, we can go back and reread some of your poetry if the waiting becomes to much. If you offer me Acme Chocolates everyday of the month but one and on that one day, offer me Godiva..you better believe I'm going to wait for the best! |

Revered Elder, This one hits home for me in many areas of my life, not just verse. Illuminating to my ruminations to say the least. ------------------ Shall I indulge in flights of fancy hampered by clipped wings? DreamEvil© |

(perk) Did someone mention Godiva chocolates? *G* 'Deer one, I don't think you need to worry about your factory turning out anything less than sheer quality... ('cept, of course, when you insist on maligning that dear Saint Toerag!) LOL |
