you promised me a garden, a place for love to grow you said you'll fence it with tender kisses circled with daisies and lilies and smiles with your two hands, in a gift of love you'll fashion a spot to dream away the days a secluded lover's haven, just for you, just for me a place where nature rules with free hand butterflies and bees, roses and apple trees all grown in wild abandon, left to natures care but with a gentle guiding hand from time to time you promised a bed of columbines tended by your own loving hand grown with such gentle care you know they're my favorite flower your fingers tug at mine guiding me through fragrant summer blooms across garden path, to a secret spot (X marks the spot on our heart's map) you bid me close my eyes, a special gift I shall see honeysuckle perfume fills the heavy air my ears hear the hum of bees my feet feel soft moss carpet beneath I can sense the serenity of this place as you lead me gently forward and settle me upon plush seat and bade me look around my eyes open in rapturous wonder as this scenery unfolds, the red of the trumpet vine crawling over a rough hewn pergola, under which I am sat hummingbirds zoom by in a wicked competition for these bright red blooms, as bees buzz sleepily about your hand extends to mine, as you ask for this dance we move our bodies to the song of the birds singing with the bees joining in a rapturous chorus we dance so slow, in the dappled shade as you press your lips to mine ------------------ "I would rather sit on a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than to be crowded on a velvet cushion." .....Henry David Thoreau |

Thank you for posting....a dream we all have. That quiet safe place where love and fullfillment can grow. Although I admit my walls are not covered with flowers. I do like the columbine. |

mmm beautiful! And of course.... A bench for us to sit on, on those still autumn nights, to watch the full moon slowly drift accross the starry sky *8) and.... the herb garden in a little tucked away corner (wink wink) Love, Eric. ------------------ I believe in fairy tales but then I'm just a silly romantic, what do I know? |
