Translation:

Pray you suffer not the death of love.
"I love you no more" are words you should fear.
I hope it is a thing you learn not of.
Your heart breaks again with each unshed tear.

"I love you no more" are words you should fear.
Words sink in your soul and tear it apart.
Your heart breaks again with each unshed tear.
Love should be avoided right from the start.

Words sink in your soul and tear it apart.
Your soul embraces winter's bitter cold.
Love should be avoided right from the start.
Love is the cruelest of lies, truth be told.

Your soul embraces winter's bitter cold.
Lock away your heart to avoid love's spell.
Love is the cruelest of lies, truth be told.
The death of love is a true living Hell.

Lock away your heart to avoid love's spell.
Words of romance are ashes on the tongue.
The death of love is a true living Hell.
If you must, suffer love while you are young.

Words of romance are ashes on the tongue.
I hope it is a thing you learn not of.
If you must, suffer love while you are young.
Pray you suffer not the death of love.

What did you write this in? French?
These are true words of heartache my friend.
Love may hurt sometimes, but if you close off your heart to that, there is nothing left but ashes. We are all born to love and be loved. I love your writing, don't get me wrong. I think you are very talented. That to me is what life is all about, Love. For God is Love, and we were created in His image.

Dream...
This poem is wonderfully written. I take it you are not of the school that it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
What a fine example of Pantoum at it's finest!!!

Mr. Evil, I just had to reply. It was a lovingly sad well-written poem. Aah, this thing about love! I love you no more is good news and bad news, don't you think? True love is found by finding the inner strength to let a bad relationship go. Many teenagers, as well as some adults, do not have that emotional fortitude; therefore that is the reason and the "secret" of suffering. Again, I am you're greatest fan, and that is ...of your writing.

DE,
I'm sure you were aware of the controversy
this poem would bring. But you did it anyhow.
A very good pantoun you are a gifted writer.
But a little devil.

Lovely poem! It spoke volumes to me - my heart is under lock and key for this very reason!

Wow!
I had not expected such a response to this one, at least not a favorable one. Thank you, everyone.

This is a very fine work...I truly feel the emotions here. A beautiful job expressing your feelings. (I believe you have expressed mine as well!)

In any language this would be an excellent poem but French suits it perfectly.

Although I prescribe to the "Better to have loved..." philosophy, please count me as a fan of this and many other of your fine offerings. Makes me wish I could speak French.
