What secrets lie, within ship's battered hull? Beneath the waves, with sea shall e'er remain. Perhaps she flew, the flag of Blackbeard's skull Seeking plunder, while'st on the Spanish Main. Perchance she sailed, with Isabella's fleet With Pinta, Nina, the Santa Mari' On sacred quest, the New World sent to meet. Poseidon holds the answer in his sea For he has lured her down to wat'ry grave Taking sailors unto their paramour For sailor's heart beats in the ocean's wave, Not with children, nor wife on distant shore. With trident's thrust, the bow of ship doth break And now at rest, at home on ocean's floor. Into the depths; the sea, the ship doth take Down with the crew, the answers evermore. Will ocean deep, require us e'er to muse Why myst'ry ship, set forth on three hour cruise? Wonderful imagery...I am very thankful Nan found you. She has been so wonderful in bringing such talents to our oft dimmed eyes, sparking fresh embers from our tired fires. And I do confess a tiny chuckle at the 3-hour cruise the Skipper woefully made. Alicat [This message has been edited by Alicat (edited 06-22-99).] |

Ok...you got me. I was thinking, gosh what a great 'sailor-type' poem...then the 3 hour cruise...! Excellent work, Tim! |

You shiver me' timbers with a jolly roll. Hats off and a 13 gun salute befitting your rank of an admiral poet. Your offering was very much to my liking, thanks for bringing it to the table. [This message has been edited by Andrew Scott (edited 07-16-99).] |
