The holiest of holies is Ron,
who rules the roost from on high.
Head of the Poetic Pantheon,
he bears an all-seeing eye.

With his magic keyboard talisman,
he controls each poet's fate.
His equal fairness to every man,
can both humble and elate.

Staying proudly by his side is Nan,
Teacher and Keeper of Lore.
Queen of the Poetic Pantheon,
through arcane books she does pour.

Form and meter are her true delight,
things she willingly will teach.
Beyond our boundaries she sets our sight,
though never out of our reach.

DeVine, Mistress of Erotic Rhyme,
is the Mother to us all.
Her pedestal is too high to climb,
most have tried only to fall.

With the forum Ladies she holds court,
very much to man's dismay.
Inflaming hearts is passion and sport,
with broken hearts she does play.

Next great Alicat comes into view,
a black cat his avatar.
The Prince of all that we misconstrue,
from chaos he goes not far.

His charge, the Alley, is His domain,
where all wars are waged and fought.
Some say he delights in watching pain,
though callous and hard he's not.

Ryan oversees progress from Teens,
their fragile souls he does hold.
Gems of youth's wisdom are what he gleans,
from those lost within his fold.

Lord of adolescent misery,
He keeps watch over his flock.
With hidden delight and mystery,
he helps them over their shock.

The free verse Goddess Isabelle Skye,
wards her Feelings very well.
She watches the masses from on high,
shaping the stories they tell.

Her own broken heart has split in two,
each path leads to pain and joy.
Believers know the pain she goes through,
and with her feelings won't toy.

Balladeer is a Prince among men,
though a god he truly is.
His subjects respect will now deepen,
for Romance was always his.

Revered Elder that he has become,
is high and noble honor.
The heart is where his passion comes from,
his verse does no dishonor.

Michael rules over eternal night,
in depression and despair.
His forum Dark rails against the Light,
giving shelter from the glare.

Darkness is the calling of his heart,
his servant and his master.
His verse is well trained in his Black Art,
in madness and disaster.

DreamEvil has a passion for verse,
though Lord of Passions in Prose.
Against his fate he does scream and curse,
though why He does no one knows.

Talent is masked by a past obscure,
hidden forever by pain.
He believes himself to be impure,
for his feelings were once slain.

Some believe they are poetry gods,
a statement that sounds so trite.
All poets you know are demi-gods,
who share a passion to write.

Here is the Poetic Pantheon,
I hope you enjoyed this tale.
I wanted to make you laugh not yawn,
I hope that I didn't fail.

Very good DE. Well thought out...except I'm not sure about the pedestal part...I just checked and my feet are definitely made of clay! But I don't think I play with broken hearts (nor have I broken any!). So that part needs a little work, dear (listen to your Mother!)

As for the others, I will let them speak for themselves.....but I do think you have Ron down to a 'T'...

My honor is being included in your poem. The beauty of it is that we're all just common folk sharing the same passion. That's what makes it godly. Thank you, Dream.

Such a wonderful tribute, DE - I do, in fact feel very proud to stand beside Ron - He's absolutely incomparably awesome - and I really use all those books to sit on - so I can see the keyboard and monitor - hoping some of it will sink in by osmosis.....

Nan! Is that how you learn? Man! All these years, I've been reading those books! I thought my brain was at the other end!
