From the genesis, there’s Choices. She weighs and contemplates. She listens to the voices That sing of love and hate. Overwhelming and confusing, She knows not what to do; Tired of the pleasing that Lets her to sit and rue. From somewhere 'round the center, Decision is then found. He strikes her like a splinter And digs his way around. Choices fades in to the black. Decision owns her now. There is no returning back- For He controls her now. Decision has his way with Her, robs Choices of Her soul. By spinning moons and jabbing spurs, Decision has a goal. He fathers a tiny child that Choices is to bear. God-forsaken, meek and mild, this baby is the Heir. Through piercing screams and tears of joy, Decision is beguiled. For Choices loves her baby boy, And He is Destiny’s Child. ©1999 Erin Solari ------------------ ~onevoice~ "She looked at her life like lines, never-ending, constantly forming, reforming and bending." Clever use of personification. I had a slight problem while reading this aloud with the very last line...guess it's just my pseudo-texan/yankee/undecided accent which turns the screw. Alicat |

Shivers.... What a way of looking at it! Great writing, yet again, one voice. |

Forgive me Alicat... I didn't pay much attention to "rules" with this piece... I just sort of felt the need to write it! lol ------------------ ~onevoice~ "She looked at her life like lines, never-ending, constantly forming, reforming and bending." |

Excellent verse, love! You seem to be past the stumbling writer's block. ------------------ Shall I indulge in flights of fancy hampered by clipped wings? DreamEvil© |

One voice - I just wanted to let you know I have just responded to your plea in the alley - my heart is with you, girl. I can see greater significance in this poem now and it impresses me more than ever. Hugs. |
