Darn it.....
I know I put both socks in there.
What the!?!?.....
As a low rumbling snicker is heard
From the direction of the laundry room.
If you only knew.....
But you don't even suspect.....
That inside that machine.....
Under the agitator.....
Lives a creature that eats.....
Socks!
One at a time,
And never the odd mate
To the one it ate the last time!
That's why you have that box
Full of odd-ball socks!
The ones you use for dusting!
