Through Rose Colored Glasses If there is a part of me with some complexity, it’s that I have a lot of hope within my soul, sometimes it appears to those I love dear that I wear Rose Colored Glasses, I’m told. I see everything with a silver lining and my cup, if not half, than totally filled; for even the smallest, most minute things cause within me a total thrill. Still during points of my life most bleak instead of sharing sorrow, I chose not to speak. Instead, I shared my letters home with much praise of my marriage ~ even through its worst phase. Finally my family read through all the lines and in one solid voice they together chimed, “Tell us the truth,” they let forth with a blast “and stay away from that rose-colored glass!” Eventually I learned that pride doth go before a fall, and one can learn again to walk and stand tall while wearing rose colored glasses for beauty’s sake, they can go ahead and share with others their mistakes. 18 August, 1999 ©KRJ ------------------ Sunshine Words will always express our feelings true. ~~~ KRJ Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow [This message has been edited by Sunshine (edited 08-18-99).] |

Sunshine, I must say I know exactly how to wear those glasses and at times I think that it is easier too. But, with respect to myself it is time to remove them. Nice work, again and as always. blueloon |

well done! Sometimes we need to take off those "glasses" and let others help us! It's good to have a good outlook on life, but good to be able to lean on others sometimes too! |

Boy can I relate to this one. I'm one of those such as yourself; always kind of blinding myself to what's really there. I'm learning though. Great poem! |

I've always hoped that my words would either connect, or help, others. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings with me. ------------------ Sunshine Words will always express our feelings true. ~~~ KRJ Look, then, into thine heart, and write ~~~ Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |
