Final Entry Henbane in my cup I drink Cheers to love that other think Will never fail nor be for nought This force for many battles fought I saw the deer upon the hill By cooling waters to drink their fill Then down one fell into the flood Tainting smooth rocks with its blood Two men met in friendly war Only kingdoms kept the score Six billion met someone that day Yet none survived to walk away In every meadow which now does reek Birds pluck eyes from people weak The sky went black upon their flight From pristine city marred by blight I alone escaped that fate But my heart does palpitate Blackened pain rips through my head Forever sleeping, forever dead Alicat ------------------ Le Jongleur Aspirante |

Gosh! The imagery here is intense! The last line left me gasping! Great, great poem! |
