Long Flight Home

Jonathon Livingston Seagull
Gracefully takes flight
Soaring against the backdrop
Of a jewel glittered night.

My heart sings with joy
As you sail through the sky
Your body rolls from side to side
As you wave goodbye.

Wings spread wide and open
I watch you flying free
Beyond the bright horizon
Towards a distant sea.

Majestic is your prescence
Like a king upon his throne.
I wish you well on your journey
As you begin the long flight home.

So gorgeous. The simplicity of a bird in flight, caught against the sky contrasts with our own busy lives. I loved this!
