A great battle now brews Forces amass at mind's gate Body moans, emotions rampage, mind darkens Flame of will flickers Mind seeks heart in marriage of darkness Oh brave heart, resist! Wed not the emporer of ill mood Remain untouched pure sister Refute, thou, the crude advances of darkness Rally thy slumbering forces of light Rise gallantly to the struggle With sword of wisdom and shield of faith Embrace the battle! Command thy soldiers of higher qualities; Fearlessness, courage, endurance-- lead the right ! Determination, will, perseverence-- charge the left! Detachment, perspective, discrimination-- bring up the rear! Oh great tide of blazing light No darkness can survice they onslaught. As brave Helios untiringly banishes the night Which sneaks back only in his absence Light the inner lamp of Divine Realization Banishing forever all darkness from thy kindgom of consciousness. ------------------ lenny |

This was good! Very 'old' poetry sound to it! And I like that the light banished the darkness.... |

Not always easy to capture a good medeival flavor in a piece of writing. You did it well. |
