Step Back By Chanelle De Winter Step back from what you know, Of who you are… Look inside to find the child you once were, The innocence you left behind. Look through the eyes of that child, And the most wondrous thing will happen… Suddenly, the various shades of gray, Overshadowing you will fade away. Look around to see the beauty of life, Not in the big and flashy, But in the small and precious. In the flowers, the trees, the sun in the sky, The smiling faces… In all that has always been there. Contemplate the mysteries of love, The bliss, the anguish and the confusion that it holds. Appreciate your parents, experience unconditional love. Walk with a friend and really listen for once. Stop and enjoy what you’ve worked so hard for… Taste the food, Listen to the ones who care, Look beyond the surface of things, And feel the power to be alive. Is this a new world? Or one you never stopped to admire One that passed you by. Breakthrough ---live, love, laugh. Remember the precious moments, The unforgettable memories. They are all that we have in the end, They are all that we know and all that we are. |

Refreshing! This should be required reading for anyone who is feeling downtrodden. Sometimes the little things are the most precious, and the most easily overlooked. ------------------ "Nunc lento sonitu dicunt, morierus" (When I hear the bell tolling softly for another, it says to me, "Thou must die.") |
