In the Silence of the Night©1998 Genea Parker In the silence of the night I come to you, Softly whispering your name. I am in your dreams, leading you Although it’s not quite the same As the time I took your hand And promised my love forever, Not knowing I would leave you Long before our son would remember. You live out your days in solitude And I wish that I could be Still walking beside you As I always thought we should be. You hold me in your heart As you always said you would. You’ve never let me go Even when others said you should. In the silence of the night... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ------------------ Thanks for taking the time to read. Comments welcome! :-) |

Sounds like a lot of regret in this poem....and sadness. Nicely done. |

Balladeer, Thanks...with this one i envisioned a man who has died who comes to his wife in her dreams...she still holds him in her heart, e even when those around her tell her, "let it go". ~Genea |
